Michelin Star Chef Rikku challenges with a food Experience at The Art of Duplicity

Chef Rikku Ó’Donnchü, the owner of RIKŪ Omakase and celebrated Michelin star chef, is set to tantalise food enthusiasts with a limited-time only pop-up dining experience at The Art of Duplicity. This collaboration promises to deliver an extraordinary fusion of flavours and an intimate dining experience that’s not to be missed, complete with a 12-course menu.

Known for his deliciously whimsical cuisine, Chef Rikku is inspired by music and objects, presenting hypnotic, playful dishes that trick the eye and bewitch the tongue. He expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration: "A chance to take a 12-ish Course Japanese-influenced Omakase to the Mother City, paired with Japanese-influenced cocktails, at one of the World's 50 Best Bars?” he asks. “That was a no-brainer to me, as this is a special venue where I know I'll be able to serve up something really unique to people who know what they like."

A rare chance to experience this level of food locally and in Rand nogal.

For those not yet acquainted, the Art of Duplicity is a true hidden gem: to enter this secret speakeasy, guests must secure a table reservation, receive a password, and uncover the location. Once inside, they’re transported to a new realm, a timeless escape where elegant elixirs, lush ambrosia, and honeyed lamplight intertwine.

David Donde, owner of The Art of Duplicity, notes that, "Cape Town isn’t lacking in great venues, so it's an honour that out of all the venues he could have chosen, Chef Rikku is collaborating with us.” On their association so far, Donde says, “The Art of Duplicity is loving hosting a chef so invested in the experience of quixotic dining, and guests are in for a one-of-a-kind experience when they taste his food paired with our cocktails."

Chef Rikku’s rare dining experience at The Art of Duplicity will be available throughout the month of May, with an extension into June due to demand. Due to the intimate nature of the venue, seating is limited to a maximum of 26 people per night. Those who wish to indulge their epicurean escapism are encouraged to secure their reservations promptly.

So take a trip down the rabbit hole in search of Chef Rikku’s one-of-a-kind wonderland. And hurry! Blink, and you just might miss him.
